Now that you found your way to our website I'm glad your here. Selecting a Contractor for your home remodel project is not a decision to take lightly, after all this is your home we are talking about. We are home owners too and we understand. We hope to help you find the design that you have been looking for and help to bring it to life. Should you decide to start your project we will be with you step by step all the way. 

James Walker is a San Diego native and has been working here in the construction trades starting in the early 1980's. Although I obtained my General Contractors license in 1988, I started J.L. Walker Construction in 1991 and later incorporated in December of 2000.

Growing up in the Pacific Beach area I watched and sometimes helped my father as he constructed his own wood hull cabin cruiser boat and spent may hours on the ocean later fishing with him. I always remember the days and nights watching the carpentry work involved and realized at an early age my love for wood working.  As soon as I started working construction, I knew that I wanted to follow in my Grandfathers footsteps and become one of San Diego's residential building Contractors. It has been my pleasure to remodel homes from Coronado to Oceanside. Our home office is in Poway where I have had the privilege to build my own dream home and raise two children with my wife Marion.
